Terms and Conditions of Purchase
Before placing an order, please read our terms and conditions carefully.
To order prescription glasses you must be over the age of 16. You must not be registered blind or partially sighted, or be ordering on behalf of persons under the age of 16.
Your prescription must have been issued in the last 24 months, or 12 months if you are over the age of 70. It must have been issued by a qualified person.
Our prescription glasses are limited to the prescriptions of Sph +/- 6 and Cyl +/- 2. Any persons placing orders outside of these limits will be contacted by us via phone or email to discuss options for the fulfilment of the order.
We will rely on the prescription details provided by you to process your order, and the goods provided by us will be to the specification of the details entered by you in the prescription section of the online order form. However, if we think there is an obvious mistake, one of our Dispensing Opticians will contact you via phone or email to verify your prescription details.
All prescription details must be entered by you, the customer; alternatively a legible and satisfactory copy or image of the original prescription must be provided to us.
If you provide us with prescription details via telephone, you do so at your own risk and your order will automatically become non refundable.
SpecsPost will not be held responsible for any prescription details entered incorrectly by any person placing an order.
If you find that there is a problem with your lenses, you must return them to us to be checked by our Opticians.
Standard single vision lenses which have been made and fitted according to incorrect prescription details provided by you, the customer, can be replaced at a cost of £12.50 (including P&P).
In the event that standard single vision lenses are made and fitted incorrectly at our fault, they will be replaced by us at no additional charge
Customers own glasses being reglazed (having new prescription lenses fitted) by us are not subject to our usual guarantee. This services is carried out at your own risk, we cannot be held responsible for any damage to the frame during the lens fitting prosess. We are not liable if your own frame goes missing in the post.
We reserve the right to request that you contact your Optician for information related to your prescription that is needed to process your order.
We reserve the right to not accept your order, based on advice from our Dispensing Opticians.
When you place an order, you will receive confirmation from us that we have received your order.
All our glasses come with a one year guarantee from us. If a fault occurs in that time, we will replace them with an identical pair, or one to the same specifications of equal value.
All prices shown on our website include Value Added Tax (VAT).
If an item has been mispriced due to our mistake, we are not obliged to sell the item at the price stated in error.
If this occurs, we will contact you with details of the correct price so that you can decide whether to proceed with your order.
We aim to dispatch any goods ordered by you, to the address stipulated by you at the time the order was placed, within 10 working days; although you may receive your goods sooner than this. You will always receive your goods within 30 days from the date your order was placed (UK only, orders to overseas may take longer). If this is not possible, we will contact you via phone or email to re-negotiate your delivery, or you may cancel your order and receive a full refund including delivery charges.
Please note that some orders including designer frames, varifocal lenses or other lens upgrades may take longer. Orders placed and processed before and during holiday seasons may also take longer.
If your goods are lost in transit and you do not receive your order due to fault either from SpecsPost or our courier, we will have your item delivered again. If your chosen frame is no longer available, you may choose an alternative frame to the same specifications of equal value, or you may choose to accept a full refund, including delivery charges.
If you have received information from us via phone or email to say that your goods have been dispatched and you have not received them in reasonable time, please contact us.
If you receive goods from us that are damaged or faulty, you may send them back to us and receive a full refund including delivery charges, or have the item or an equivalent substitute delivered again. Delivery charges will not be refunded on goods returned for any other reason.
Prescription glasess are custom made to your own specifications and are non refundable. We will only accept returns on non prescription items.
In order to ensure that glasses are a good fit, we provide measurements online and we offer a trial service for you to try on spectacles before commiting to purchase. If you have ordered prescription goods from us, they may not be refunded due to poor fit. We will not accept returns on items that are unsuitable on the basis of appearance.
Refunds granted at our discretion will not include delivery charges.
If you order goods using our trial service, you must return the goods within 7 days. By ordering frames using our trial service, you agree to us retaining your credit/debit card details for as long as is necessary, and you agree that by not sending trial frames back to us within the time limit of 7 days from your receipt of the goods, that you are liable to pay the full price of all frames ordered by you using our trial service. We will retain your credit/debit card details and if you have not returned the goods to us after the 7 days, we will charge you the full amount for any frames in your possession and the outstanding amount owed to us (excluding any deposit paid) will be debited from your nominated account by us.
If this happens, you have 14 days from your receipt of the goods to send them back to us for the basic lenses to be fitted, made to your prescription at no extra cost to you.
In the above circumstances, once full payment has been taken by us for any frames ordered by you, you have the right to return them within 7 days of payment for a full refund, under the UK Distance Selling Regulations.
All frames remain the property of SpecsPost during the 7 day trial period.
SpecsPost will pay the return postage for any frames ordered using our trial service and returned to us within 7 days. Returns for any other reason have the postage paid by you, the customer.
You are obliged by law to take reasonable care of any goods received by you, while they are in your possession.
If you are returning goods to us, please ensure you send them with the full, original packaging.
As prescription lenses are a custom made product made to your individual requirements and therefore unsuitable for sale to anyone else, we are not obliged to provide refunds on prescription spectacles unless there is a fault with the frame or lenses.
Due to the high cost to us in producing prescription lenses, including single vision lenses, bifocal or varifocal spectacles, or spectacles with thinner lenses, transitions lenses, tints or coatings; orders comprising of these products will be non refundable unless there is a manufacturers fault or technical fault with the frame or lenses. Varifocal lenses are not always suitable for everyone, therefore we offer a 14 day money back guarantee on our standard and premium varifocal lenses. We are unfortunately unable to offer refunds on our budget varifocal lenses. If you wish to return glasses with varifocal lenses, you must do so within 14 days of receiving the item.
We advise that glasses frames are tried at home before the prescription lenses are fitted so that is is known whether the frames chosen are suitable for your requirements. Please note that our Home Trial service is currently available to UK customers only.
Your Rights to Cancel
Under the UK Distance Selling Regulations, you may cancel an order consisting of non prescription items within 7 days of placing the order.
If you wish to cancel your order, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or write to us at the address shown below.
If you cancel your order once we have dispatched the goods, you should send them back to us with the full, original packaging. You will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.
If we do not receive the goods from you, we may arrange to collect the goods from you, and you will be charged for any costs incurred for us to do this.
Once we receive notification of your cancellation, we will refund to you any monies paid by you for the goods, and the initial delivery charge paid by you at the time the order was placed (usually £3.99 for UK orders).

We are the owner of or are legally authorized to use any text, images or graphics shown on the site. The text, images or graphics may not be reproduced in any way for commercial purposes and must not be used by you without express written consent from us.
You may link to our website, so long as this is not done in such a way that will either take advantage of, or damage our reputation. You must be the owner of any website that you link to ours, and any sites linked to ours must not contain inappropriate content.
You must not introduce viruses, Trojans, corrupt data or any other malicious material, or any materials which would be detrimental to our site or technology, or to users of our site.
If you breach the above term, you will commit an offense, and any such breach will be reported by us and our full co-operation given to reveal your identity to the relevant authorities.
You must not attempt to gain access to restricted areas of our site.
We reserve the right to make changes to our site and any of or all of our policies, at any time.
